Being an ex boxer Sensei Malc Bradley at the age of 26 decided to take up another sport and started training at Newport IOW Shotokan Karate Club in 1976. He achieved all his kyu gradings under Tomita Sensei from the K.U.G.B and when he graded to 3rd kyu he started teaching at the club.

Sensei was awarded his Sho-Dan in 1983 and his Go-Dan in 2016 Under Sensei Dewey of the Shotokan of England Karate Union. And on May 7th 2022 a special memorial training course was held for Malc and he was awarded a posthumous 6th Dan also by Sensei Dewey.

Over the years there has been generations of karate students that have achieved their goals. Many have graded for various black belt Dan grades under the tuition of Sensei Malc.
Malc was an old school martial artist and used to teach how he trained and also had a story to tell
Sensei was associated with the club for over 45yrs and will be sorely missed by all club members past and present
